Description

Confrontée à la cruauté de Shira, l'un des combattants de Mugaïryû, Lin trouve la force d'intervenir sabre à la main. Séparés pour faire face aux leurres d'Anotsu - prétendument déguisé en femme pour voyager incognito -, les conjurés tombent pourtant dans les pièges de ce fin stratège. Sollicités par un petit groupe de l'école Mugaïryû pour leur prêter main forte dans leur vendetta contre l'Ittoryû, Manji et Lin tendent, en leur compagnie, une embuscade à Anotsu. Celui-ci est en chemin vers Kaga, pour annexer une nouvelle école.

Manji et Lin se sont-ils fait de nouveaux alliés ? Difficile à dire, si à priori les motivations sont les mêmes, les méthodes diffèrent ! Quoi qu’il en soit, pour le moment l’étau se ressert autour de Anotsu, mais celui ci est loin de manquer de ressources (et accessoirement d’hommes, puisqu’il en sacrifie un grand nombre !)
Encore un tome très dense, qui commence par une phase d’observation…que penser de ces potentiels futurs alliés ? Ils sont puissants c’est un fait, mais qui sont-ils réellement ? Pourquoi en veulent-ils à Anotsu ? Est une vengeance comme pour Lin ? Pour le moment ils cultivent le mystère ce qui déplait à Manji qui ne semble pas décider à leur faire confiance !
Ensuite, l’auteur nous propose un jeu de piste / jeu de dupes où on ne sait plus qui traque qui…mais au final on assiste à un bain de sang doublé de tortures assez atroces. Rien d’insoutenables, mais ce n’est pas non plus forcément agréable ! Une nouvelle question se pose alors : la vengeance doit-elle s’accomplir à ce prix ? Qui est alors le monstre ? La victime ?
Désormais une spirale infernale de vengeance est enclenchée : Lin voulant se venger du Ittoryu et de son leader Anotsu, Magatsu sabreur du Ittoryu qui veut se venger de Shira, ce dernier ayant une revanche à prendre sur Manji…plus que jamais le sang appelle le sang, et plus que jamais Lin est perdue et ne sait quoi penser !

Encore un tome bluffant où l’auteur ne cesse de proposer des planches tout simplement remarquables, d’une beauté et d’une finesse à tomber à la renverse…un must tout simplement !
